Stargate is a science fiction franchise that originated with the 1994 film titled “Stargate,” directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Kurt Russell and James Spader. The film revolves around the discovery of an ancient device known as the Stargate, which allows for interstellar travel between different planets. It introduces the concept of a network of Stargates built by an ancient alien race known as the Ancients.
